Feeling Good.

I had my interview yesterday. I think it went very well. The Hiring Manager told me that he definitely wants to bring me back for a second interview. This one will be at the Home Office with the VP of Operations and the Human Resources Manager. The only drawback is that It will probably be a month before I get to do the second interview. They are still talking with others, but the fact that I was one of the first he interviewed and still told me that he wanted to bring me back was a very good sign for me.

I found out the training would take about 1-2 years depending on when a plant came open. During that time I would learn every aspect of managing the business. I would have to travel to several of the other plants for as much as 2 weeks at a time. He mentioned Medina, CA in particular as one that I would go to for 2 weeks.

So, all in all, it was a very good interview.

La Nina killed me yesterday afternoon. She was "helping" me fix dinner. I was peeling potatoes, and she kept telling me what to do. As I have said before, she is 3 going on thirteen, and thinks she knows it all.

I told her not to be bossy in a joking manner. She told me she was not being bossy, she was just telling me what to do. I tried to explain to her that's what bossy means, but was laughing to hard at the serious look on her face.

Since BH had to work yesterday afternoon, I to La Nina to the Doctor's office with me to get my annual flu shot. She went in the room with me while I got the shot. The look on her face was priceless.

She was hold my hand and watching the nurse stick me with the needle. She started patting my hand and kept saying, "It okay, Daddy, It okay."

After dinner last night, she made me lay down on the couch and covered me with an afghan. BH was just laughing. I tried to tell her I wasn't sick, but she kept telling me that if I had a shot, I was sick.

I hope she is always that caring little girl, even after she grows up.

Fun Days

Today was the kind of day when I really enjoy being a family man. We went to the old historic farm that I have wrote about before. Even though it was a blustery October day, mid 50's with a brisk wind out of the southwest, the day was a warm one. La Nina was running around like crazy, and having the time of her life.

Her favorite part of the day was seeing the new piglets. All three sows on the farm had babies about 3 weeks ago, and they were all running and squealing and playing with each other. One of the groups were all huddled in the corner sleeping and trying to stay warm. Then mommy came in and they all rushed over to get some food of their own.

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch, and got our pumpkins for Halloween. At this farm market we go to, they have a deal that you can get all the pumpkins you can carry from point A to point B for 12 dollars. No bags are allowed and it is per person. Last year I made it with 5 pumpkins and the girl working the stand said it was the biggest haul she had seen that year. This year I only did 4 medium pumpkins and it wasn't much of a challenge. BH didn't want me to carry any more because she was afraid I would get hurt.

When we got back from the farm today, La Nina "helped" me carve the pumpkins. She had a tough time reaching and pulling out the seeds. She thought it was "ucky". She was cute doing it.

I do have some news on the job front. I have an interview later this week. If I get it, it would be a big increase in pay, but would be a 40 mile drive to work. My suit is dry cleaned, and I am ready to give'em hell.

I am also happy that my Denver Broncos beat the Cleveland Browns today. Living in Browns country just makes it that much nicer.

Not much else going on.
