Yeah!!!!

BH has successfully made it through surgery. She was a champ through the whole process. She was in good spirits this morning, went into surgery about 2:00pm, and was done in 2 hours. It was supposed to take 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours, but it happened very quickly. She was still very groggy when I left tonight, and the nurse said she would probably sleep through the night.

And on a brighter note, the surgeon said he did not see anything to indicate cancer, although he was still sending samples out to be checked.

I am a happy man!!!!

Too Long.

I realize it has been way too long since I last posted. A couple of things have led to that. But before I get into that, Thank you Heidi for checking. It means a lot to have someone care about your well being.

One of the reasons I haven't posted is that our internet server at work, (I usually post from work) has been down for a while, It recently came back up, I hadn't had the chance to post.

Posting from home wasn't a real option, because it has been so hectic.

BH is doing okay, her surgery is this Wednesday. They are going to remove her whole thyroid, along with the parathyroids. She is very scared, but overall is handling it well. The surgeon has been very nice, and even called her the other night to see how she was doing. She told him she was scared, and her said not to worry, he has done this many, many time before. He even prescribed her some sleeping pills so she could get some rest the nights before the surgery.

I am going to take a week off to stay home with her after the surgery, and her mom is coming up to help out with La Nina.

La Nina is a whole other issue. We had to fill out what seemed like a thousand pages of on her so she can be evaluated for Asperger's syndrome. Talk about tiring. It is hard to fill out paperwork like that and be objective.

She is also getting to be old enough to figure out all the gates in the house. I turned my back for 2 minutes the other day, and she pushed a stool up to one of the gates, climbed over and got upstairs. I heard a scream come from her and ran upstairs to find her running towards me. She had gotten to close to our cat (she is a 14 year old Siamese that likes to be left alone) The cat had gotten a little too nervous,(imagine that..Nervous around an excitable 3 year old that had just gotten away with something) and the cat tagged her on the leg. Three nice scratched on her left leg. Hopefully it was a lesson learned.

Also, as much as I like my job, I am looking again. I just don't think the options to advance are quite what I was led to believe. There have been three potions filled that would be a step up for me, but they did not post the positions. BH wants to move to the Carolinas, but who knows.

The friend of mine who did the walk along route 66 called the other day. He is getting ready to start up a non profit organization, and says he may ask me to join his team. That could be a definite option.

I will do better at posting in the future. I promise.
