Why Do Girls Like Bad Boys?
I just got back from the local convenience store and saw something somewhat funny that I had to share. After I got the items I went for, I walked up to the counter. There were two youngish girls working. One was going nuts because a regular customer that she had the hots for had just come in and asked her out. She was pinging off the walls.
The other one said she was jealous and wondered why the other guy in the car didn't come in and ask her out. The first one ran out to the car to get the other guys number for her friend. While she was doing this, girl number 2 was cashing me out. I looked outside out of curiosity to see what the girls were fussing about. Both guys were skinny as rails, scraggly hair and beards, tattoos up and down both arms, driving a 20 year old car.
What is the big fuss?!?!?!?!?
So my question is, What do girls see in this bad boy image. I have seen it time and time again. Friends of mine, great girls, going for these loser types. Is it the project factor? Is it the danger of it? Are the just trying to piss there parents off??

As I typed the last part, I thought about something that happened about 18 years ago. I was working as a cook for a well known chain restaurant. I happened to be good friends with most of the wait staff in the place. I would go out for drinks with them and generally just hang out. About half the wait staff were women, and the other half were gay men. I got along with almost all of them.
One night one of the waitresses came in with her face busted up. Her live in boyfriend had beat the crap out of her the night before. She was distraught that she had to work looking like that. The manager told her she could go home if she needed to, and it wouldn't count against her. She stated she didn't want to go home and face him again.
A few of us pulled her into the breakroom, and asked her what she wanted. She said she wanted to leave him, but was afraid. Tom Selleck (not his real name) told her not to worry about, that we would help her move out, and that she could stay with him for a while.

A side note about Tom Selleck. I call him that because he looked exactly like the actor. Tall, 6'4", Dark hair, handle bar moustache, bodybuilder, and GAY as the day was long.
We were joking at the bar one night about tying cherry stems into knot with our tongues and asking who could do that. When we got to Tom, he calmly said that no, he could not do that, but that he could, and I quote, "Turn a man inside out with a blow job!!"
That was Tom for you.

Back to the story. The waitress in question waited around until we closed up for the night. When her bastard boyfriend showed up, a couple of us calmly told him that she was not going home with him, and that we were going over that night to move her out.
He bullied up a little, and yelled at her to get in the car, and that they didn't need these shit-for-brains friends of hers messing in their life.
About that time Tom Selleck comes wading through the crowd, there were about 12 of us out there. He calmly leaned over to look in the drivers side window, and said in his lispy voice, "Mother Fucker, she's moving in with me tonight, and if you don't like it you can step out of that car and get your ass kicked by this faggot right here and now!!!"
The jerk looked at Tom for about a minute put his car in gear, and we never saw him again.

It didn't stop her from dating bad boys though, because she was dating another one within a month.
As one of the non bad boys, I guess I will never get it. If anyone can help me understand, though I would appreciate it. I want to be able to equip my daughter with the tools to be able to see through the bullshit of these guys, so that she can be everything can can be.
