I May not Know What I'm Getting Myself Into!
I was sitting in my office this morning talking to Climber when I informed him that at lunch today, I am going to try to kill myself. He got kind of a funny look on his face. I am not sure if he thought I was serious or not, but He was concerned enough to ask for further explanation.
A while back I mentioned that It is a goal of mine to one day loose the 20-30 pounds of extra weight I carry around. Ideally, I should be around 185 to 200 lbs, but currently I am about 220 to 225. I seem to carry it well, but I can tell by the way I feel as I get older, that I need to loose the weight.
To this end, I have taken on the task of finding a fun way to loose weight that is cheaper, and less boring than going to a gym. I thought of jogging, but that is still boring. I really enjoy walking, but the time needed to burn the calories takes to long. I think I found a solution.
I went out the other night and bought a pair of rollerblades. I bought the pads and helmet to go with it. I had the young lady at the shop show me the proper way to wear them, and make sure it was a good fit. I evan practiced a little bit in living room to get a feel for the blades under me.
I think I will go to a park near work that has some relatively wide, paved trails. I am going there also because the trails are fairly flat. The park and trail are also never very crowded with people, so on a chilly Wednesday at lunch it should be also empty of people and I can humiliate myself somewhat privately.
